Abstract

Major surgical procedures could be performed with a reasonable expectation of primary wound healing and recovery. Despite major advances in infection prevention strategies, health careassociated infections (HAI) still remain a major public health problem globally. Understanding the incidence of postoperative wound infection in various healthcare settings would help us analyse the contributing factors and improve healthcare.
