Abstract

Periodontal diseases are believed to be the sixth chronic complication of diabetes mellitus along with retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, macro vascular disease, and altered wound healing. The present study was intended to identify the relationship between periodontitis and the glycaemic control in non-diabetic individuals by comparing the HbA1c levels in periodontitis patients and non-periodontitis individuals who have not been diagnosed as diabetic.
