Abstract

Background: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), a persistent inflammatory condition of the nasal
passages and sinuses, is frequently associated with fungal pathogens, particularly Aspergillus
species. Effective management necessitates thorough eradication of these pathogens and
restoration of sinus function, commonly achieved through functional endoscopic sinus surgery
(FESS). This prospective observational study aimed to evaluate the clinical and radiological
features, determine the prevalence, and characterize the mycological profile of fungal
rhinosinusitis in patients undergoing FESS.
