The anesthesia for elderly patients presents various challenges arising from physiological changes accompanying aging, pre-existing disease conditions and susceptibility to POCD. This paper thus aims to discuss measures of preventing complications that range from individualizing anesthetic regimens, modifying the doses of drugs used to conducting preoperative evaluations.
