Abstract

Copeptin, a glycopeptide is a C terminal part of preprovasopressin. Copeptin is a surrogate marker of arginine vasopressin and measurement of copeptin is a simple method. The size and half-life of copeptin permits easier immunological testing when compared to vasopressin, so it is also considered as a reliable surrogate marker of arginine vasopressin. Copeptin is considered to be associated with increased risk of developing chronic kidney disease and their clinical consequences in diabetic patients
