COMPARISON OF SUTURELESS TECHNIQUE WITH TRADITIONAL SUTURE LIGATION IN OPEN THYROIDECTOMY.

BACKGROUND
and dislodgment
Conventional thyroidectomy is time-consuming and vulnerable to sutures
slipping
increasing
the
risk
of
haemorrhage
and
postoperative hematoma formation, while the use of electrocoagulation has a
potential risk of injuring the nearby structures due to the lateral dispersion of heat.
Haemostatic devices like Harmonic Scalpel provides bloodless field and low
complication rates
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To compare the operating time, postoperative outcomes, and surgical complications
of total thyroidectomy between the suture less technique using harmonic scalpel and
classic suture ligation for haemostasis
