SACROCOCCYGEAL TERATOMA POST OPERATIVE FOLLOW UP AND OUTCOME

Aims: To study the post operative complications of sacrococcygeal teratoma and follow up
of all the post operative cases every week, 1 month, 6 months and 1 year with clinical
examination, digital rectal examination, AFP levels, Ultrasonography.
Materials and methods: It is a prospective & retrospective study of all cases which came
during the study period and with minimum follow up for 1 year in 20 cases of sacrococcygeal
teratoma.
Results: Commonest age of presentation of SCT is less than 1 month, followed by children
between 1year and 5years. Females are more commonly affected than males. Commonest
type of Altman presentation was type II, followed by type I and typeIII and type IV. No
associated anomalies were noted in the present study.
