Abstract

Melissa officinalis, or lemon balm, is a perennial herb. It has been used for over 2000 years in cooking 
and traditional medicine. The plant exhibits diverse biological activities including antioxidant, antiinflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. It is used in treating mental health issues, cardiovascular 
problems, and various cancers. Melissa officinalis is also valued in aromatherapy for reducing anxiety 
and stress. And its essential oil shows potential in treating conditions like herpes. It also improving
quality of life in menopausal women and those with PMS. With its wide range of applications, Melissa 
officinalis officinalis is also used in cosmetics and aromatherapy for its calming effects.
