Introduction- Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease hallmarked by raised blood glucose
concentration and because of its consequences, it has high morbidity rate. The studies indicate
that individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) frequently have left ventricular
hypertrophy (LVH). Therefore, this study was planned to assess the prevalence and determinants
of LVH in T2DM in order to delay or avoid the onset of cardiac complications and to give a
carefully focused intervention aimed at lowering morbidity and mortality in patients with T2DM.
