Background: The transverse abdominis plane block is commonly used for providing
postoperative analgesia in lower abdominal surgeries and can be effectively used for providing
analgesia in lower segment caesarean section. Present study was aimed to compare ultrasoundguided transverse abdominis plane block with 0.25% bupivacaine and 0.2% ropivacaine for
postoperative analgesia following caesarean section. Material and Methods: Present study
was prospective, comparative study, conducted in pregnant women aged 20 to 35 years, ASA
physical status II and III, undergoing elective and emergency caesarean section under spinal
anesthesia. Sixty patients who underwent TAP block under either Bupivacaine or Ropivacaine
were divided into two groups of 30 each randomly
