Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular mortality, through its effects on target organs, such as the heart
and kidneys. Hyperuricemia increases cardiovascular risk in patients with hypertension. Microalbuminuria, which is best predicted by
urinary albumin creatinine ratio (ACR), in hypertension is described as an early sign of kidney damage. Microalbuminuria and left
ventricular hypertrophy are predictor for end stage renal disease and cardiovascular disease.
