Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by persistent hyperglycemia resulting from impaired insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Altered serum uric acid (SUA) levels have been linked to insulin resistance, oxidative stress, and diabetic  complications.
