Abstract

Background: Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory condition that has been increasingly associated with various systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, adverse pregnancy outcomes, and respiratory  disorders. Awareness of this interrelationship among the general population is essential for early prevention and holistic health care[1–4].
