Abstract

Background 
According to WHO, nearly 5 women die every hour in India  due to post partum haemorrhage. Primary postpartum haemorrhage is defined as blood loss within 24 hours of delivery and Secondary postpartum haemorrhage is blood loss after 24 hours of delivery.1 
The present study is undertaken to study the socio demographic profile, various risk factors and causes of post-partum haemorrhage. It was also aimed to study the various management techniques adopted for the treatment of these patients, maternal complications 
encountered during the treatment and maternal outcome in these patients.
