Abstract

Enzymes are highly efficient and specific biocatalysts which may be intracellular or extra
cellular. Actinomycetes are Gram-positive filamentous bacteria with high guanine and cytosine
contents.They are unquestionably the most important in the synthesis of antibiotics and other
bioactive compounds.
