Abstract

Gut microbial metabolite trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) is linked to adverse cardiovascular outcomes and experimental cardiac fibrosis. Whether early post-infarction TMAO concentrations predict objectively-measured left-ventricular (LV) fibrosis in humans remains unknown.
