Abstract

Diabetic neuropathies are among the commonest of all the long term diabetic complications and is the main initiating factor for diabetic foot ulceration (DFU). Epidemiological data on symptomatic diabetic neuropathy which is a common scenario in surgical practice in India remain poor due to inconsistent definitions, poor ascertainment, and a lack of population based studies. This study was aimed to stratify the diabetic foot patients according to their neuropathy severity, type of foot and on quantifying the much
morbid painful diabetic neuropathy prevalence in our hospital concomitantly assessing the relationship between symptoms and signs of neuropathy.
