Abstract

Background: Important sources of ectopic atrial electric activity, especially in patients with atrial
fibrillation, include evaluating the patterns of pulmonary venous drainage to the left atrium and the
frequency of each variable in pulmonary venous architecture on CT drainage sites in pulmonary veins.
Variations in the pulmonary veins' anatomy are frequently seen. These differences can be crucial,
especially when it comes to the preoperative planning of pulmonary and cardiac surgery.
