Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) patients on the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program
(NTEP) treatment protocol receive daily doses without health professional-supervised drug
intake as during the previous directly observed treatment short-course (DOTS) regimen. The aim
of this study is to determine the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics, treatment
outcomes, and factors associated with unsuccessful treatment outcomes of patients who received
anti-tubercular drugs under NTEP.
