.Abstract
Background Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) refers to irregularities in the frequency, consistency, duration, or amount of menstrual bleeding in women of reproductive age and it is usual in adolescents, reproductive and perimenopausal women but can occur at any age. FIGO introduced the PALM-COEIN system (Polyp, Adenomyosis, Leiomyoma, Malignancy, Coagulopathy, Ovulatory Dysfunction, Endometrial, Iatrogenic, Not Yet Classified) to establish a standardized nomenclature. Diagnosis is made by clinical examination, and ultrasonography and will be verified by histopathology. Management can be medical, dilatation and curettage, polypectomy, ablative procedure, and hysterectomy.
