Anemia And Serum Vitamin D Levels – An Observational Study

Abstract

Background : Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. It has diverse biological effects extending beyond the maintenance of calcium and phosphorus homeostasis and ensuring the proper functioning of the body.Anemia and Vitamin D deficiency are both important health issues , however, the nature of association between them remain unresolved . Objectives of the study: The objectives of this study were (1) To estimate and compare the serum levels of Vitamin D in cases of anemia and healthy controls (2) To comprehend the association between Vitamin D levels and anemia.
