Background: When patients with cirrhosis undergo decompensation, their risk of mortality rises. Death in decompensated cirrhotic patients has been attributed to both hepatic dysfunction and non-hepatic factors. Current research was undertaken to examine the relationship between in-hospital mortality and clinic-biochemical parameters in decompensated cirrhotic patients. Materials and Methods: This observational, single-center, case-control study involved 54 patients with cirrhosis in both the groups. Case group were the patients which got died in hospital despite of treatment, (non-survivors) and control group were the patients which got discharge from hospital after receiving treatment, (survivors).
