Fungal Otitis Externa: An Observational Study of Clinical Presentation and Treatment Outcomes

Abstract

Background: Fungal otitis externa, a superficial fungal infection, predominantly affects individuals of lower socioeconomic status. Risk factors include open cavity mastoidectomy and hearing aid use. Local antifungal medications and cessation of topical antibiotics are proposed treatments. This study evaluates the effectiveness of various treatment protocols for fungal otitis externa
