Abstract

Background  
Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the preferred reperfusion therapy in 
patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). A delay may lessen the 
benefits of PCI, whereas early intervention improves both short- and long-term 
outcomes.
