Abstract

In today’s world sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) has become a growing concern of death among
the young adults of age group (18-50 years). There are nearly 2 million cases of SCA
occurring globally and hence the study related to the risk factors associated with SCA among
the general population needs to be prioritized from a clinical and public health point. The
reason behind the increasing incidence is risk factors such as stress, physical inactivity, and
unhealthy lifestyle. Assessing and identifying the major risk factors and managing them can
reduce the burden of the disease.
Objective: The study was based on assessing the knowledge and prevalence of risk factors of
SCA/ sudden cardiac death (SCD) among young adults of selected service sectors in and
around Kalaburagi city.
