Background: Elderly patients undergoing surgical procedures are at increased risk of perioperative
hypotension due to age-related physiological changes and the effects of central neuraxial blockade
(CNB). Accurate preoperative assessment of intravascular volume status is critical to predict and
prevent hypotension. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of the inferior vena cava collapsibility
index (IVCCI) and the IVC-to-aorta (IVC:Ao) index in predicting anesthesia-induced hypotension in
geriatric surgical patients.
