CLINICAL AUDIT ON IMPLEMENTATION OF THE I-PASS HANDOFF BUNDLE IN REDUCTION IN NUMBER OF CODE BLUE

Abstract

Background: Effective communication during patient handoffs is critical to preventing adverse outcomes, including Code Blue activations, which signal cardiac or respiratory arrest. The I-PASS handoff bundle, designed to improve the accuracy and clarity of patient information transfer, has been shown to reduce medical errors. However, its impact on reducing Code Blue events has not been extensively studied. This clinical audit evaluates the implementation of the I-PASS bundle in the Emergency Medical Department (EMD) and its role in reducing Code Blue incidents.
