Assessment of obstructive sleep apnea in patients with chronic kidney disease

Abstract

Aim: Assessment of obstructive sleep apnea in patients with chronic kidney disease Material and methods: Total of 100 patients was included in study. STOP-BANG QUESTIONNAIRE was utilized to identify patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Patients with score 3 or more than 3 was enrolled for study and Polysomnography was performed on these patients. Polysomnography was undertaken in all patients using the machine “Sleep Care”. This machine works with the software “Sleep Care 1.0.3”. Polysomnography can measure the proportion of sleep apnea and apnea-hypopnea index. Complete clinical history, thorough clinical examination was done. The data was entered in the proforma. Collected data was analyzed by appropriate tests of significance.
