Background: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of mortality worldwide, and modifiable dietary factors play a significant role in their prevention. Omega-3 fatty acids, primarily found in fish oil and certain plant oils, have been extensively studied for their cardioprotective effects. This study aims to assess the role of omega-3 fatty acids in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases, focusing on their anti-inflammatory, anti-thrombotic, and lipid-modulating effects.
