Abstract

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Tobacco smoking is noted to increase the risk of atherosclerosis and measuring Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) is considered to be a non invasive technique for identifying subclinical atherosclerosis. This study was conducted to assess and compare the carotid intima-medial thickness among smokers and non-smokers with symptomatic vascular diseases.
