.Abstract
Recent research underscores the multifaceted impact of sex steroid hormones(SSH) on a wide range of physiological processes. For many years, estrogen and progesterone were responsible for classical reproductive development, but recent studies depict their role at a variety of tissues, including the lung airways. The objective of the study was to observe the effects of exogenously administered SSH in the form of combined oral contraceptive pills (COCP) on pulmonary function parameters in apparently healthy women receiving COCP for more than six months and compare it with that of non-users.
