Abstract

Tuberculosis is killer disease-causing deaths globally. The incidence of tuberculosis and other mycobacterial diseases has made it essential for laboratories to quickly detect and identify Mycobacteria from human clinical specimens. The phenotypic tools available for the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis are sputum smear microscopy, chest X ray and culture. Culture of bacteria is gold standard for the final determination.
