INTRODUCTION: Over the last few years, the right internal mammary artery (RIMA) has emerged as a second arterial conduit for coronary artery revascularization, while the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) remains the primary choice. Controversy surrounded the use of bilateral internal mammary arteries in the past due to increased incidence of sternal infections, more so among the diabetics.
