.Abstract
Postoperative pain is a distressing symptom which delays recovery of the patient and increases morbidity. Epidural infusion of local anaesthetic in combination with fentanyl is considered as the gold standard for control of postoperative pain. The present study is aimed at comparing the analgesic efficacy of epidural infusion of 0.125% ropivacaine with fentanyl and 0.125% levobupivacaine with fentanyl in patients undergoing lower abdominal surgeries.
