Abstract

Background: Obesity and overweight are becoming more common, which is a serious public health issue, especially for young adults like medical students. To create focused interventions, it is crucial to comprehend the gender distribution and prevalence of these conditions in this population. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out among the institution's medical students. BMI was calculated following the collection of anthropometric measures. Students were placed in BMI categories based on Indian and WHO criteria. The data were analyzed to determine gender-based discrepancies and prevalence rates.
